LOS ANGELES (YBH) – Former Poison frontman, and current “The Celebrity Apprentice” star Bret Michaels, was rushed to the hospital with a “massive headache” on Thursday. Once there, doctors discovered that Mr. Michaels had extensive bleeding at the base of his brain stem. He is currently listed in critical, but stable, condition, according to his publicist.
The 47-year-old rock star-turned-reality-TV-star had an emergency appendectomy two weeks ago before a show at Sea World in San Antonio, Texas. Doctors expected Mr. Michaels to recover fully from that surgery.
It is not known if the brain hemorrhage Mr. Michaels suffered this week was in any way related to the prior surgery, or his well-known diabetic condition.
Donald Trump, the host of “The Celebrity Apprentice,” said that he was “deeply saddened” by the news and that Mr. Michaels was “a great competitor and champion.”
Details on which hospital Mr. Michaels is being treated at have not been released.
