Britain to Track Speeders from Space? Not in America, Thank God

One of the main differences between the United States and Europe is the right of citizens to protest vocally and, many times, successfully.  This goes for protesters on both the left and right.

The fear I have of Time magazine, in reality a still powerful media outlet, calling opponents of Obama “seditious”, without any evidence thereof, is that it has the ability to stifle dissent.  People who would think of talking up against Obama’s burgeoning tyranny might suddenly think twice about it.  The scary hypocrisy of the statists on the left is that just 3 years ago “dissent was the highest form of patriotism.”  Now many outspoken liberals are calling dissenters criminals, or at least hinting at it.

Watch your speed mate! Britain to catch speeders by satellite.

I put forth that as long as the Democrats don’t succeed, they will try, no doubt, to put in place things like that which is being tested in Great Britain.  In England, it has been revealed that speeders are being tracked from space.  Talk about a revenue generator!  The program isn’t actually being used to write tickets yet.  However, if it goes “revenue” the Brits will quietly take it.  No Tea Parties or Code Pink there.  America would have a collective fit if the government here were to do the same.  I thank God I live in a country where citizens are brave enough to fight back vocally.  The left fought against Bush and now the right fights against Obama.  It is the American way, and I wouldn’t change a thing.

That leads me back to Time magazine and specifically writer Joe Klein.  In calling Beck, Palin, and adding in Rush, seditious, the magazine is attempting to chill free speech.  That is dangerous for the future of American dissent.  What is worse, most vocal members of the left (you remember them from when the Patriot Act was a bad thing) are completely quiet.  They actually agree with Beck and Palin being forcefully shut up.  Shame on them.  NOTE: I’m not a particular fan of Glenn Beck, but I’ll defend his right to his conspiracies just as I’ll defend Code Pink’s right to think George Bush controlled the gravitational pull of the moon.

The danger of Obama is that he may continually “rule” against the wishes of the American people.  Health care being rammed through was the opening round.  Immigration, massive deficits, a VAT, and Cap & Trade are next.  Team Obama cares not what the American people think on any of those issues, only what they and their special interests think is good for the rest of us.

Americans need to fight back and speak up at the ballot box and in debate across this great land. Time magazine and the Democrats may not like it, but dictators, and their starry-eyed followers, rarely like having their plans thwarted.
