Republicans Miss Mark In Fundraising Call

I just received a call from the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC). The young lady on the line wanted to thank me for my “activism” this year.  She then told me that it was Barbara Boxer (not Ben Nelson, who knew?) who delivered the 60th vote on health care to Harry Reid.  Afterward, I was hit up for $375.  Well, an attempted hit-up.  Since taking over the editing gig at YBH! I’ll only donate to candidates if I know them personally before they declare to run.

MIAMI (YBH.ME) – Freshman firebrand Congressman Alan Grayson of Florida has sent a letter to the Attorney General of the United States imploring him to jail a critic of his.

Mr. Grayson, using the “squeaky wheel” method of governing, has become a lightning rod for conservatives. For instance, Mr. Grayson told former Vice President Dick Cheney to “STFU”, an acronym for a popular slur, on national TV last week.  One such conservative has started a website called mycongressmanisnuts.com with the aim of raising funds to help defeat Mr. Grayson. Political Fundraiser: Organizing For America Takes On Palin

A new feature here at YBH! called “Political Fundraising.”  We will gather some of the more interesting fundraising pitches from politicians by e-mail, from both sides of the aisle, and print them here for all to see.  If you get an interesting one please forward it to us by clicking the “Contact Us” tab above.

Our first installment is from Barack Obama’s “Organizing For America” in regard to Sarah Palin’s recent media blitz.

Right now, Sarah Palin is on a highly publicized, nationwide book tour, attacking President Obama and his plan for health reform at every turn.

It’s dangerous. Remember, this is the person who coined the term “Death Panels” — and opened the flood gates for months of false attacks by special interests and partisan extremists.
