LOS ANGELES (YBH) -Last night MSNBC talk show host Chris Matthews talked openly about the idea of Rush Limbaugh being silenced in a manner usually reserved for James Bond  villains.

Mr. Matthews may have realized he “stepped in it” when his guests didn’t react positively to his comments.  Conservatives are sure to have a field day with Mr. Matthews comments.  The phrase double-standard will likely be thrown around in coming days from the GOP and conservative media watchers, as many on the right feel that they are held to a tougher standard when it comes to criticism of the left.

Mr. Matthews is the host of Hardball on MSNBC.

Chris is obviously envious of Rush Limbaugh's influence and wealth! But Chris is a Catholic and ought to realize that envy is one of the Seven Deadly Sins. Get to confession, Mr. Matthews. Your words are disgusting and stupid.

    • Plato

Good point Richard. If Matthews ever went to confession, he would never be released from the confessional!

Doesn't sound so much like a James Bond cartoon death than the death of the shark in Jaws. And Quint's soliloquy describes Rush Limbaugh as much as it does a great white: "You know the thing about a shark, he's got… lifeless eyes, black eyes, like a doll's eye. When he comes at ya, doesn't seem to be livin'. Until he bites ya and those black eyes roll over white."

Limbaugh isn't a cartoon, like Mr. Big; he is a real threat. Chris Matthews knows no one will shove a CO2 pellet down Limbaugh's throat. But someday some Limbaugh-worshiping cracker is going to take a shot at President Obama after listening to the hours of anti-Obama hate speech that Limbaugh spews out on the air, every day. Those fools aren't called Dittoheads for nothing. They believe everything he says (like he's not racist-right!) and they do everything he tells them to do ("Folks, these are your marching orders!"). And one day when a deranged Dittohead acts out and says Limbaugh told him to do it, he'll shrug and say: "Me? I'm just a lovable little fuzz ball."

No, he's as souless and predatory as a shark.

You are so blinded by your own bias, that you confuse your own "hate speech" with rightousness. Rush Limbaugh has never publically made a racist remark (if you can prove otherwise, show us), nor does he incite violence. You sir, are the souless one.

  • Mike

    Ditto_Not is a total hypocrite.
He's willing to excuse Matthews' casual dream of murdering Limbaugh, yet in the same breath laments Limbaugh when he hasn't called for any such action against Obama.

    Incredible.

It's obvious you seldom if ever listen to Rush. Its the fact that when Mathews does it, it is acceptable. Had he taken a moment, removed his head from the nasty place, he would have realized that his pitiful attempt at humor, may have encouraged one of his lefty loonies to act on his warped hallucinations. Others have been removed from radio & TV for lesser rants.I believe it's his turn to walk the plank. Who else thinks the same as I ?

    • Plato

Larry, you have put it in perspective for all but the insane. Matthews is a poor example to those who attain to be pertinent and influential. His commentary is corrosive and noxious as it seems it must be to keep a job at MessNBC!!!

  • liz

Chris, you should thank Rush. If it weren't for him I would have never heard of you!

  • Plato

Let's put a CO2 pellet where the sun doesn't shine in Chris Matthews and watch the "thrill go up his leg".
