LOS ANGELES (YBH.ME) – Comedian Tim Hawkins has scored an internet hit with a video parody of “The Candy Man” entitled “The Government Can.”  The fun-loving song parody features an anti-tax, or at least anti-OVER taxation  message, that Democrats and Republicans alike will find funny.

Mr. Hawkins also does a dance that could only rival Elaine Benes dancing on a now-classic “Seinfeld” episode.   Mr. Hawkins is not shy about throwing his body all over the screen, that is for sure.  The video, seen below, uses clever graphics and lyrics to get Mr. Hawkins’ message across.  Mr. Hawkins also takes pains to not overtly single out either party in Washington D.C., preferring a general non-partisan, anti-big government theme instead.

The video has received over 2.5 million hits on YouTube since it was posted last August.   As deficits rise and unemployment stays around 10%, Mr. Hawkins’ message seems to be resonating with the American public.
