Many think Jeter is en route to 4,000 career hits.  A feat only accomplished by Pete Rose and Ty Cobb.  Derek Jeter has been the Yankees starting shortstop since 1996.  He is 53rd on the all-time MLB hit list and 2nd among active players (Ken Griffey Jr. is 1st).
