LOS ANGELES (YBH.ME) – You are supposed to stop financial crises before they start. Your mandate is to manage the money supply to prevent inflation or deflation. You have a Ph.D in Economics (and then some). You are the Federal Reserve.
Since none of the above went all that well this year, why not go to the movies?

Movie Theater Ad Campaign Commences
In 12 U.S cities, the Federal Reserve will be running a taxpayer-funded, 45 second ad campaign in major movie theaters. In case you were thinking of a trip to the multiplex as an escape from worry, the Fed’s campaign will remind you to use credit sparingly. In the spot, the announcer asks, “want to use your credit card wisely? Here are some tips you can trust from the Federal Reserve.” The Fed logo is featured prominently as the ad counsels you to pay your bill on time and look out for changes to your account’s payment terms.
The Fed is charged with consumer protection in financial matters, among its other duties. On December 3, Ben Bernanke will be before Congress, vying for a re-up of his four year contract. The theater ad campaign will also finish on that date.
