(YBH) – One of the most trusted and respected analysts on the Fox News B-team recently told Ralph Nader that he thought that “the evidence…is overwhelming…that George W. Bush as President and Dick Cheney as Vice President participated in criminal conspiracies to violate the federal law and the guaranteed civil liberties of hundreds, maybe thousands, of human beings.”  The analyst?  None other than the esteemed legal analyst and Fox host Judge Andrew Napolitano.

Already on the front page of the Huffington Post and other liberal blogs, the video below is sure to make some trouble for Judge Andrew Napolitano with conservatives.

Cable news commentary shows on the left and right have flourished in recent years.  Often shows tend to ignore the mistakes (or ideological wanderings from the farm) of players with whom they mostly agree while lambasting their rhetorical enemies.  Keith Olbermann has the “Worst Person in the World” segment and Bill O’Reilly has “Pinheads and Patriots.”

It will be interesting to see if Fox commentators like Sean Hannity and Bill O’Reilly take Judge Napolitano to task?

Judge Napolitano also said “What President Bush did with the suspension of habeas corpus, with the whole concept of Guantánamo Bay, with the whole idea that he could avoid and evade federal laws, treaties, federal judges and the constitution was blatantly unconstitutional — and in some cases criminal.  They should have been indicted. They absolutely should have been indicted. For torturing, for spying, for arresting without warrants. I’d like to say they should be indicted for lying but believe it or not, unless you’re under oath, lying is not a crime.”

Judge Napolitano was interviewed this week by Ralph Nader on C-SPAN.

I'd like to correct one mistake in an otherwise well-written article, Mr, Romano. The show "After Words" on C-SPAN doesn't have a permanent host; therefore, it could never be "Ralph Nader's C-SPAN show." C-SPAN describes the weekly interview program this way: "Book TV's 'After Words' features the author of a recently published hardback non-fiction book interviewed by a guest host with some knowledge, background, or connection to the subject matter of the book. 'After Words' airs on Book TV every Sunday, at 6pm ET." Hope this helped to clarify.

Abraham Lincoln also suspended habeas corpus during the civil war; Bush did it after the attacks on the World Trade center to protect the country.
