NEW YORK (YBH) – High energy Fox News personality Glenn Beck takes aim at Rathke brothers in ACORN scandal.

Fox News Host Glenn Beck Takes on Acorn founder.

Fox News Host Glenn Beck Takes on Acorn founder.

Beck, widely credited for forcing the resignation of Obama Green Czar Van Jones, now has his sites set on ACORN founder Wade Rathke and his brother Dale.  Mr. Beck lays the entire scandal that broke this morning on BigGovernment.com at the feet of both Rathke brothers claiming that they are ultimately responsible for the scandal.  Mr. Beck also took the occasion to lambaste his former employer CNN and the New York Times for “ignoring the story.”

Wade left the controversial group he founded in 2008 amid a scandal in which it was alleged that he covered for his brother’s embezzlement of over $1 million from the community activist group.  Dale Rathke has been closely associated with the SEIU.  No formal charges were ever filed against either brother. Since leaving CNN, Mr. Beck has become a lightning rod for both the right and left on his new FOX show, Glenn Beck.

I believe in what Glen Beck is doing – no one has had the nerve to do what he does. There is so much more that needs to be addressed – we can only hope that people will get on board and ask for answers. These two ladies that work for ACORN are now on their own to face the whole thing on their own, I would wonder if they could say they were not trained properly and sue ACORN? I think they will need to look at what has really happened to them and why. People who are working for ACORN don't have a clue what this is all about and how they are being used, look at what really happened in NOLA – the people in the legal system had the money to fix the levys but didn't due to corruption and look who ended up losing, but again these people were led to believe something else and blame was transferred to someone else.

The total corruption that oozes from ACORN leads us directly to the White House. And to think that they are funded by your and my tax dollars. Plus Congress keeps delaying any investigation of their subterfuge. I do not blame the ACORN workers as they are being used and victimized by the Rathke brothers and others at the top raking in the millions.. The workers are disposable and if they get caught doing something illegal, I bet that they take the fall and nobody at the top gives a darn. This is where Obama got his start as a Community Organizer. And to think that they are involved in taking the Census. I watched ABC, NBC and CBS this evening and there was not a single word uttered about this scandal. If you care about America, you will speak up. We must cut off all taxpayer funding to this group. Let George Soros spend his billions to keep them in business. They are, after all, doing his business.

I can't think of a single thing that Beck has gotten wrong! I love his passion. More of us should be outraged at what has already happened to our country.

We are headed down a road of self destruction – there should be more people informed about what is going on . The ABC, NBC, CBS, "news" reporters and our newspaper writers should hang their heads in shame. I have never seen such a "snowjob" so widespread – it is like watching a train wreck. Thank you, Glenn Beck, you are a true patriot

  • GTurner

I now agree with Beck on his MAIN point: NOTHING can go forward in Congress until a full accounting of the Obama-ACORN connection is completed! Mr. Obama: ANSWER THE QUESTIONS!!!

I pledge to work to FIRE any Congressman who fails to call for an investigation…

  • Concerned Citizen

I find it amusing that Americans let Bush destroy our economy and lead our armed forces into war on pure lies and then when he admits he lied, people let it slide. Keep in mind that he is also a president that on multiple occasions said that he would ignore what americans had to say and would stay the course. Yet, when we have a president (Obama) who is attempting to work with both parties and is working with a moral compass to help those americans most in need (the poor), people are ready to chop his head off.

This is where ACORN comes in. This is an organization that works to empower and educate low to moderate income families -most of whom happen to be people of color- to take ownership of issues in their communities and fight for change, rather than sit back and do nothing. The conservatives are attacking an organization that helps people, just because it empowers poor americans (many of whom are people of color) to take a more active role in their communities; all because conservatives see this as a threat to their power structure.

    To set the record straight:

    1) Obama has never worked for ACORN

    2) The US Justice Dept. put out a statement at the beginning of the year saying that ACORN is not under voter fraud investigation and has never been.

    3) The Rathke Brothers have no connection to ACORN anymore. They left a year ago

    4) If you watch the video on the alleged baltimore tax site scandal, you can tell that the interviewer's voice is a voice over and does not actually match the video.

    5) CNN did cover the alleged scandal; except that it was a conversation on how the video was not really journalism

    6) ACORN is the IRS' biggest Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Site partner, after AARP and the US Army. As a matter of fact the IRS recognizes ACORN as one of its best and most dependable partners.

Republicans are just trying to blow more smoke, in order to distract americans from real issues and stories; same as they did with the Cheney shooting his friend in the face story on the same day that Ashcroft admitted guilt. Fox is not a real news station. They are just a comical gossip controversy outlet like the tabloid Weekly World News. I bet Beck also believes in UFO's and the Chupacabra

    • DRA

Sounds like you're on ACORN's payroll. Nice cover.
Watch the whole video and you have to be either deaf, stoned, or stupid to not understand
that the 2 women representing that corrupt organization are more than ready, willing,
and able to subvert multiple laws. And for the record, your "fuhrer" was a lawyer for them,, that's
just a fact, no matter how you try to spin it.

    • Gene in Jersey

Let's really set the record straight, shall we? 1) Obama was legal counsel for ACORN in 1995. Prior to that he worked for Project VOTE, an ACORN "voter registration" project. 2) Unless, of course, you count the eleven ACORN workers arrested recently in Florida for voter registration fraud (not to mention countless other voter fraud charges brought across the country). Of course ACORN is always an armslength away (for plausible deniability, don't you know?). 3) They left after one brother had embezzled over $1 million dollars and the other had covered up for him. 4) That's why both workers were fired yesterday, because the video was obviously a fake! 5) CNN? Ha!! Hack journalists… Just see today's "Coast Guard attack" in the Potomac! Not real journalism? That's why the wires are burning up with this story! 6) Yes, and we just saw the kind of "income tax assistance" they were extending to a poor prostitute trying to set up an international child prostitution ring while laundering money for a congressional campaign… What a freakin' joke!

Denial is not a river in Egypt, buddy…

  • Mark

Where did this idiot get his facts?

    • DRA

Probably out of his ACORN pocket guide in the section entitled "Covering Up Scandal" ….

  • Concerned Citizen

You can tell the video was doctored. But, that aside, if the filmmaker wants to be credible, why won't he let anyone review the FULL video?

And yes you are right, Obama did represent ACORN in a case a while back. That is the only connection to ACORN he has. That was years ago.

    • lovemycountry

ANYONE can review the whole video…go to biggovernment.com…and view the NEW one they did while investigating D.C. ACORN.

My sign tomorrow is…A Corrupt Organization of Rathke Nefarions……..ACORN

  • flagwaving whalen

you people are such sheep, let me ack you:
where were you and Beck when Bush was illegally wire tapping people?
where were you when him and paulson decided to bailout paulson's former company and some of the very banks that caused this crisis?
where were you when your hero Beck blasted our health care system when he worked for CNN yet strated praising healthcare when his paycheck came from FOX?

And i'd bet 95% of you have 0 clue what ACORN really does. I'd also bet that you morons actually believe the majority of their funding, where they're funded at all comes from tax dollars when it clearly doesn't..but, what do I know?
    bahahahaha…bahhhhh…bahhhh…bahhhh
    good night my sheep

    • DRA

So, How long have you been working for ACORN ? (If you don't mind me "ACKING") …
The fact of the matter is that you can not seriously in all earnest defend what was on that video, and Beck merely reported on it; it actually broke on the "Big Government" site. Somebody has to do the job the leftist media won't do. Just 'cause you hate Beck, and probably this country, doesn't make up for the illegalities that are factual and continue to be unearthed about that corrupt organization.

    • Tired of BS

OK. You are an idiot. Bush was not illegally wire tapping anyone.

Dale Rathke is President of ACORN International LLC and, according to a NYT article, kept secret his brother's embezzlement of $1MM so as to not arm conservative critics of their strident advocacy. Come again? You covered up a crime in which you are complicit, but you did it for the cause?

So, tell me what ACORN does. Good night? You are truly stupid.

    • TiredOfTheCorruption

All I have to say is this…if you have followed Glenn Beck on his radio show you would know that he was telling everyone about President Bush and the corruption during his adminstration but just like now Americans don't want to listen. So here's an idea, put the tainted kool-aid down and start doing your own research. Stop thinking with a republican or democrat mind frame. Be an independent thinker. Two Party system (elephants and donkeys!!!) is corrupt and only divides people in the country more instead of bringing us together for the better. Do your own research…it's easy and in plain sight.

    • wibby

Oops Flagwaving Whalen, your lack of education is showing badly. Maybe a bit more time in school and you might be able to write a note.

  • grandma

Glen is correct in his reporting, otherwise all hell would flow from all the other news programs on tv. Where are
the true leaders in Washington. They need to think about their children and grandchildren living in a world being created by these radicals. Big ED and Rachael Maddow are so shallow they can't begin to disbute the facts on
Glen Beck's show. COULD BE THE REASON THEIR RATINGS ARE TANKING. This happens to smart people with heads in the sand pits. God Bless us old people ( the mobbers) for standing up for our rights. We have lived and worked long enough to know the difference in this great country

  • GTurner

Of course, the WHOLE POINT is we're not going to "get to the bottom of this" in the Comments Section of "Yes, But, However" trading barbs with koolaid-drinking nosebleeds on either side. This requires a Congressional Inquiry into this issue, the MANY allegations of ACORN voter fraud and whether there is any deeper connection with the Obama administration beyond the "one case in which Obama represented ACORN awhile back".

There must be SOME reason he felt compelled to include them in his Administrations' transition team? And maybe theres SOME reason he has moved to provide them with BILLIONS in "stimulous money"? SURELY its not because of their excellent reputation for ethical behavior and selfless support of the down-trodden?!

  • Randy

If Glenn Beck wasn't pointing out facts, he wouldn't last a day. He must be doing something right or you left wing nut cases wouldn't be running so scared. The truth hurts and always seem to come out in the end. God Bless you Glenn Beck!

  • Oklahoma Proud

I know what ACORN does! They train their brothers and sisters to depend on them for their next fix (government hand-out, then steal it), they preach about society pushing the poor down when it is their own people keeping them down (ACORN), they blame God and everyone else for their own lack of willingness to get up off their butts and go to school, stay of drugs and alcohol, study all night for good grades, seek out a higher education (FYI….can also be obtain via government hand-out but that doesn't seem to matter), find a job, any job, working at Mc Donald's is a job, work 12-15 hours a day and become a productive member of society like most people do in America EVERY DAY! By the way, I am a Native American. I took offense to Van Jones ranting on about 'give them back the wealth' and inferring to Native Americans. He represents NO Native American I have ever met. I am proud to be Native American. I was taught that government hand-outs keep the individual from succeeding on their own by taking away their dignity and self-respect, keeps you weak and dependent. I was taught to stand tall, walk proud, work hard, respect your country for what your country has given you and you shall be rewarded. God Bless Glenn Beck for the courage to stand up for freedom and liberty!!

  • hardmanb

Where are all the Hispanic advocacy groups, complaining about sexual exploitation of Hispanics?
Where are all the feminist organization complaining about sexual exploitation of young girls?
Where are all the Human Rights groups outraged about the sexual exploitation of children?
Where are all the Immigrant Rights groups yelling about sexual exploitation of immigrant children?
Where is Obama and all the federal government and congressional calls for investigation of this exploitation of the weakest and most helpless in our society.
Where is the mainstream media with all their professed integrity and public interest?

    Hypocrites!!!!!

  • Sam

What a big surprise! The left wing socialist hacks come out blame Bush, blame Beck and blame fox. The Bush era is over. Beck and others did go after Bush on things he did. The left wingers don't know or understand this because they are close minded. Obama and Acorn will go down and the left wingers are crying. Let's pray they don't take our republic with them.

  • MOROTTI

GOSH GLENN, MAY GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR CREW!! GOD HAS PLANS FOR YOU, THAT IS WHY HE LEAD YOU IN THIS DIRECTION..MAY HIS ANGELS WATCH OVER YOU AND YOUR FAMILY..THERE IS SO MUCH CORRUPTION IN WDC. IT REALLY SCARES ME..AMERICAN PEOPLE ARE WATCHING YOUR BACK, BUDDY..

  • concerned citizen

Just to let you people know, Wade Rathke is not the president of ACORN. He is the director of Community Organizing International. Like a responsible organization that abhors his conduct and that of his brother, ACORN disassociated itself from Rathke and demanded that if he is to continue with ACORN international, they had to change their name. ACORN wants nothing to do with him and his brother.

Now about the conduct of those stupid ex-employees of ACORN; they were fired for their non-professional and immoral behavior. In no way is there any attempt on my part to excuse their behavior.

The truth of the matter is, if an employee of any corporation commits a crime or does something else wrong, you blame the employee and not the corporation. To use a company all you idiots respect as an example, in hopes of getting through your thick skulls, if an employee of Wal-Mart steals or commits any other crime on the clock, you fire the employee and turn them into the police. You don't blame Wal-Mart.

Plus, Glenn Beck is using this supposed scandal to take attention away from the health care debate. There is NO WAY you can refute that, considering that in his own words on Wednesday night he himself said ON THE AIR that Thursday the real news will not be the health care debate but some juicy gossip he had. He and Fox were going to take the emphasis away from health care. He himself said that on national tv. Then in a more recent video he said we should stop talking about health care and concentrate on ACORN. This is all a way for him and the people at Fox Entertainment (not even close to earning the word "News") to get people to stop talking about health care.

    • TiredOfTheCorruption

That is because there is NO point in talking healthcare or any other issue that is going on until the corruption is gone in Washington D.C. It's not just the democrats but also the Republicans that we have to get rid of. They are not listening to WE THE PEOPLE! So, it would be better to just pass a healthcare plan that is doomed to fail because of the corruption? A healthcare bill that can't be reversed because it was railroaded through? To me that makes no sense. If these clowns in Washington were really serious about the healthcare bill they would be listening to the American people BUT they are not! They want to run it through because they can fill their pocket books! It's to their advantage not ours! That is the way Washington D.C. works, always has and always will until WE THE PEOPLE tell them NO!!!

  • This is unfortunate

I am a housing counselor with ACORN Housing, and have been for the past 1.5 years. Like everyone else, I was really astonished by this video. Obviously, common sense and morality were not emphasized when these people were trained. I agree with the firing of these particular employees, as well as those in DC. What they did was wrong and just plain stupid.

Aside from that, there are people within ACORN and ACORN Housing who believe in what they do. Every corporation and organization in America has its bad apples, it's just unfortunate that ACORN is in the public eye and is constantly scrutinized by the media.

In the 1.5 years that I've been with the organization, I've helped hundreds of homeowners renegotiate the terms of their home loan. I feel proud of what I was able to accomplish. It just sucks that the general public seems to focus on the negative, rather than the positive.

    • TiredOfTheCorruption

You are correct that this is unfortunate. I fully believe that there are people who want to help in Acorn but the bottom line is tax payer money is going to this organization and there must be an investigation. IF there are a few bad apples this is one way to rid ACORN of the problem but IF there is corruption all the way to the highest levels then the American people need to know.

  • DWEarly

Come on,how dumb do you think we are? We saw how the home loans are negotiated in those videos. Finally the Census Bureau cut them loose and we must now work to deny them any more tax dollars.

We,The People, are no longer in the dark and the days are numbered for ACORN .

Thank you to Glenn Beck for continuing to expose the abject corruption the mainstream media refuses to report on for the American people.

  • MOROTTI

I SO AGREE WITH DWEARLY………….DAYS ARE NUMBERED FOR THIS ADMINISTRATION TOO, HOUSE AND SENATE–GET THE BUMS OUT–VOTE THEM OUT..THANK YOU GLENN BECK..GOD HAS PLANS FOR YOU..WE WILL BE WATCHING YOUR BACK..

  • Concerned Citizen

DWEarly are you that much of a moron? Did you ride the short bus or something? By your logic, all conservatives are morons, just because you are. This is to say, that you are condemning a whole group for the actions of 4 individuals. It is faulty logic to condemn a whole group for the actions of the few.

I have actually met some really nice Republicans (some of whom are close friends of mine) who have good heads on their shoulders and can have good rational conversations with people and respect differences in opinions. But, if I were to buy into your line of thinking, I would have to hate and condemn them all, just for the crimes of the Bush administration. That is very faulty logic.

Just like with any organization or corporation, there are going to be some bad apples somewhere in the mix. You get rid of the bad apples, in order to avoid spoiling the rest of the basket.

  • Michelle

I completely agree with Glenn Beck. He points out the truth and it is sad that liberals can't see that even though they may not agree with him- he does speak the truth. To Flagwavin whalen- Beck was speaking out during the Bush years- alot of us may have missed the boat on what our govt was doing- Glenn Beck was pretty angry then too.
Americans here is the deal- our govt is riddled with corruption- repubs and dems- Bush was wrong- Obama is wrong- lets unite to fix the corruption and the wasteful spending. Otherwise we will lose this amazing nation.
