Secretary of State Hillary Clinton may have inadvertently given conservatives a rare and juicy piece of red meat with remarks she made in Pakistan this week.

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
The quotes [emphasis ours]:
The percentage of taxes on GDP [in Pakistan] is among the lowest in the world… We [the United States] tax everything that moves and doesn’t move, and that’s not what we see in Pakistan….You do have 180 million people. Your population is projected to be about 300 million. And I don’t know what you’re going to do with that kind of challenge, unless you start planning right now.
The quotes were given to Pakistani newspaper editors in Lahore, Pakistan. They were first reported by AFP two days ago.
Taxes may take center stage in American politics in coming election cycles, especially if legislation like the carbon trading scheme known as “Cap and Trade”, and a health care overhaul, are signed into law by President Obama. Both will most likely add to the cumulative tax burden on American citizens and business.
