LOS ANGELES (YBH.ME) – On Sunday, The History Channel will air a special based on historian and political scientist Harold Zinn’s controversial book “The People’s History of The United States.” The special, entitled “The People Speak”, includes celebrity appearances by Matt Damon, Josh Brolin, Marissa Tomei, and musician John Legend, among others. Damon grew up next door to the Zinns.

Professor Howard Zinn's Alternate History of America Widely Read and Controversial
In 2004, Professor Zinn wrote an editorial for 911truth.org where he stated:
Whether one views the 9/11 “terrorist” attacks as blow back, a wake-up call, or an unjustified outrage, they have deeply affected the American psyche and our attitudes toward war, the future, and the world. As a historian trying to understand this phenomenon, I tend to view the government’s behavior, before and after 9/11, in the context of its leaders’ past actions.
While Zinn hasn’t come out and publicly stated that 9/11 was an inside job, and the above doesn’t quite say it, it is salient to note that Mr. Zinn wrote the editorial expressly for the conspiracy website and called the 9/11 perpetrators terrorists with quotes around the word. Zinn is oft-quoted by the political left, most famously with the phrase, “dissent is the highest form of patriotism.”
Mr. Zinn’s special, co-produced by Matt Damon and a group of Hollywood insiders, airs Sunday night December 13 at 8 p.m. on NBC-owned The History Channel.
