Howard Dean talks about American socialism and the idea of the “permanent campaign.” This is a chilling video:
It is always illuminating when politicians are caught either overseas or in front of small crowds here in America. They occasionally let their guard down, assuming they are not being taped. This happened with then- candidate Obama over the “clingers” kerfuffle in San Francisco.
The video above contains highlights of Mr. Dean in a Paris cafe earlier this year. The most interesting passage is when Mr. Dean refers to a permanent campaign to “influence policy” not just elect Democrats. The comment should make hard-working Americans of all political stripes take pause. It is, to my mind, a new brand of American fascism.
