I have respect for KW because he has apologized not only to Taylor Swift( which he had to) but to all including the viewers (which he didn't have to) Wilson as an elected official represents us all. the worst insult he can give is refusing to apologize to us the people as well. When he stands on the congress he is to embody our will, not his own agenda.

Gaiuscaprica – I too find it unsettling that Joe Wilson’s disrespectful outburst to the President was over illegal immigrants' healthcare. Why DIDN'T he show this kind of opposition when Bush said “Iraq has weapons of mass destruction”, or “we are wining the war on terrorism,” or “the USA does not torture prisoners?” Shouldn’t he have passionately objected to SOMETHING regarding Hurricane Katrina, or high gas prices, or home foreclosures or economic bailouts? Yet, no one disrespected Bush. Thank God our President gracefully accepted Wilson’s apology. If it were me, I’d have Wilson tortured at Abu Ghraib. At least Kanye had the excuse of being drunk, and had the decency to apologize every chance he got!

Democrats are Hypocrites. They've pushed me into the other camp and awakened my anger. I've watched Democrats on the house floor call Bush a liar. I've heard Pelosi call the CIA liars. I've heard about the Chairman of the Ways and Means committee cheat over and over on his taxes…democrat. Nothing is done until now?
Split the nation in two. That's what they've done. This is going to get worse. AND, if I hear the 'racist' remark one more time, I think I'll barf. The only people that focus on the president being black, are blacks. Take off the colored glasses and get over yourselves. It's about policies NOT RACE!

Joe Wilson is an embarrassment. Interesting that his taxpayer paid for website was down for several days and now all that is there is his biography…no way to send a comment. I don't think this is democracy in action. Regardless of the party affiliation, it is critical to our national security to not have such scenes as the Joe Wilson inappropriate shout out play on the international stage. The fact that Joe Wilson has no control of his emotions should be of concern to his constituents. Not to mention, he was wrong. There is no accommodation in the bill for illegals to be covered. I question how many of either party have read the proposals. Politicians seem to care about being reelected. They don't seem to have much concern for the rest of us.

Its not the 'Republican' way. Its the American political way. The Democrats whined while Bush was in office, now the Republicans are whining with the Democrats in power. This also happened during the Clinton years, and I imagine the Reagan years as well (although I was too young to care in those days). Our two major political parties are a joke and a disgrace. I am a conservative, but no longer identify with the Republicans. If I was liberal, I think I would feel the same about the Democrats.

That sad, I can admire the guts of Wilson to do that, but he still has to take the heat. He is a politician, and if he didn't expect a backlash then he really is an idiot.

Party lines are party lines. The whole lot in Washington is a joke. Look at the vote to admonish. The only ones I have respect for are the few Democrates that voted no and the few Republicans that votes yes. Wilson needed to say what he said, was it important – yes, was it badly times – yes, did it help his campaign drive – yes, should he take his medicine – yes.

The House has rules and part of the rules specifically state that you a member of the House, a lawmaker can say a president’s policies are a “disgrace to the country,” but they are not allowed to call the president a “hypocrite” or a “liar.” When you become a member of the House you agree to follow the House rules. If you as a House member feel that these rules are outdated, then they should work for change. But the rules are there for a reason.

Its the Republican way. Its always the correct thing to do or say if its done by a Republican. However, if the same action, comment, bill, or (just fill in the blank) is done by the opposition, Republicans scream bloody hell. Fear, mob mentality, prejudices, and greed are the driving forces of the GOP. Helping others is now commonly known to Republicans as being Socialist. Finding common ground is impossible unless it is the Replubicans idea. America wanted change, now Republicans only fear change. Conservatives true meaning at its core, do not change, "help myself", do not help America as a whole to move forward. 'Divided we stand or else', its the Republican way.
