The Democrats law firm of choice Perkins Coie LLP is already at work in Massachusetts. The firm, which is known for its successful election litigation on behalf of Democrat candidates, has taken issue with a Scott Brown ad buy in the Bay State. The firm has accused the Brown campaign of using soft money in violation of FEC rules.
Think of that as a warm-up in case the Massachusetts special senate election next Tuesday is close. The firm has successfully navigated close elections for Minnesota Senator Al Franken, Washington Governor Christine Gregoire and helped bend election laws in New Jersey to benefit Senator Frank Lautenberg in 2002.
Both Gregoire and Franken were behind in the polls after election night and both wound up winning when all was said and done. Perkins Coie does an effective job of navigating election law for their clients, so much so that Perkins Coie partner Bob Bauer was invited to serve as White House Counsel for President Barack Obama.
