NEW MEXICO (YBH.ME) – Planet earth is set to pass through the tail end of Halley’s comet tonight, affording an excellent chance to see shooting stars.

Earth and Orionid: Beautiful sights tonight.
Prime time to see the yearly Orionid shower will be between 3 and 6 a.m. Pacific Time, but expect to see meteors as early as 1 a.m. Peak time will feature 15-20 meteors per hour. Halley’s comet appears every 76 years, leaving a mounting debris trail each time. This is the trail which is visible each October.
Experienced meteor watchers advise choosing an area with minimal light pollution, and getting set up with lounge chairs, blankets and warm clothing at the ready.

Im waiting so patiently, and not trying to think about the morning ahead of me!
But its exactly 153 am and I have yet to see anything. Im in upstate NY btw. I just read about the peaking hours between 3 and 6. I wish I would of known that earlier to prepare. I was led to believe it started at 1am.
Im excited either way. Good luck everyone, I hope we see a hell of a show!
