WASHINGTON, D.C. (YBH.ME) – Senate Democrats are pushing with full force to pass a $1 trillion health care reform bill, without a public option or Medicare buy-in, before Christmas. Insiders say that the historic bill is most likely set to be voted on Christmas Eve at 7:00 p.m. If delays come to pass Harry Reid could set the vote for Christmas Day itself.

Reid to spoil Christmas?
The timing is unfortunate, and, if held on Christmas or Christmas Eve, could lead to an outcry from Christians. Senate Democrats and most Beltway pundits believe that a health care bill will be D.O.A. if not voted on before the Christmas break.
Nebraska Senator Ben Nelson and Connecticut Senator Joe Lieberman have caused a host of obstacles for the Democrats, neither feeling comfortable with the yet-to-be-read Reid bill. Republicans are united against the bill, leaving the Democrats to solidify their fractious caucus if they hope to pass a bill.
A house health care bill passed with just one GOP vote in early November. The vote for that bill was held at 11:00 p.m. on a Saturday night.
