Starbucks takes on town hall rage in an ad campaign, launching this week, for its new instant coffee brand, Via.  Video below:

We at YBH are curious to see how this will play out with conservatives.  Partisan Starbucks? Or a clever campaign to get people talking?  Hey, we are writing about it.  In today’s hyperbolic environment we believe people prefer non-partisan coffee.  We’ll see.

No word on if the campaign will also feature a clip of Union thugs beating up anti-Obamacare folks while sipping a Starbucks latte.  YBH doubts it.

I'm a conservative and I was irked, if not offended, by the ad. Not sure if being a conservative makes any difference, but since you asked in the description…

At any rate, I'd rather they stick to coffee and not come anywhere close to politics. I wrote them an email saying so, and I'll sit and wait for an answer. (Off topic: the VIA instant coffee stinks, in my opinion.)

It's not as thought people DIDN'T yell, so what's anyone got to be upset about? "Oh no, they're saying we might like coffee"? Doesn't bug me. I mean, I wouldn't be offended unless I regretted something I did… But I don't.

And for instant, it's good. For the price, eh, not so much.
