BOSTON (YBH.ME) – Below is a photo of Massachusetts U.S. Senate candidate Scott Brown circa 1982. Mr. Brown took part, and was a winner, in Cosmopolitan magazine’s “Hunkiest He-Hunk” contest that year. Mr. Brown was 22 years-old at the time.
Republican State Senator Brown is involved in a heated campaign with Massachusetts Attorney General Martha Coakley for the right to replace the late Ted Kennedy in the U.S. Senate. Some polls show Mr. Brown slightly ahead of what was once considered a safe seat for Democrats.
Ms. Coakley is seen by many as a tool of the Democrat establishment and has lackluster personal appeal according to most polls.
The campaign is likely to get nasty in the final week before voters head to the polls. The SEIU, a Democrat controlled union, is set to spent $680,000 on television ads for Ms. Coakley over the final days of the campaign.
