WASHINGTON, D.C. (YBH) – The last, most important, hold-out for Barack Obama’s signature legislation has caved to pressure according to reports. Michigan Democrat Bart Stupak is said to be awaiting language from the President on an Executive Order that would mollify his anti-abortion stance. Once written, insiders confirm, Mr. Stupak will vote for the bill.
Stupak has long been against the Senate health bill because it didn’t fully restrict federal funding of abortions. With Stupak said to be off the fence passage of the health care bill is all but assured in the House today.
President Obama postponed a long awaited trip to Asia to monitor today’s vote.
