As for criminalizing homosexuality, the Catholic Church does not impose itself on anyone, nor does Christ for that matter. We each make choices, based on our individual actions. Each choice however has a consequence under the laws of God (i.e. the Natural Law), whether we like them or not Catholics are not asking for relief from the law, we simply want the government to uphold the law as it is written currently.
