Meg Whitman Nearly Triples Twitter Followers In Two Days

SAN FRANCISCO (YBH.ME) – Meg Whitman has gone from zero to hero on Twitter in recent days.  About a week ago, Ms. Whitman had just 4,300 followers on Twitter.  The other day,  it was revealed that Twitter had a pair of Democrat gubernatorial candidates on its “Suggested Users” list, but no Republicans.  After a bit of controversy, she and other Republican causes were then added to the list.

Meg Whitman now a Twitter favorite.

She now has 12,000 plus followers.  Almost 8,000 “followers” have signed on in the last two days.  While impressive, it is still a far cry from Democrats Gavin Newsom and Jerry Brown, who have 1.2 million and 900k respectively. The other leading Republican, state Insurance Commissioner Steve Poizner, has yet to make the list.  Mr. Poizner currently has under 5,000 followers.

All four are running to replace outgoing California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger who will leave office at the end of next year.
