My hometown of Los Angeles, California is not known as a bastion of conservative thought. As a center-right to conservative chap in Hollywood, one tends to seek out other like-minded folks. Yes, I know there are only five Republicans total in Los Angeles and two of them are Andrew Breitbart.

Will Gary Sinise run for public office?
Actually, folks don’t realize how many conservatives or conservative-minded people are in Hollywood. There are also a host of people who aren’t tried-and-true conservatives, but can’t stand the quasi-fascism of the powers-that-be in Los Angeles. Others just believe in America and all that she stands for, and believe that we may have lost our way over the last twenty or so years.
One of those people is actor Gary Sinise. Mr. Sinise is an acclaimed actor and a movie star in his own right. Beyond that, Mr. Sinise has a quality that seems to be in short supply these days: leadership.
I’ve met Gary on 7 or 8 occasions and I’ve been struck by how people listen to the man when he speaks. He radiates a quiet charm and a commanding sincerity. I imagine it was much like how people saw Ronald Reagan in the days before he ran for Governor. If he were a stockbroker, he’d be E.F. Hutton.
For now. Mr. Sinise confines his political activities to supporting and helping the fighting men and women of the U.S. Military. Gary has been active in many areas, including various charity functions and the USO.
Just as our troops are called to sacrifice for a higher good, I believe Gary Sinise will soon answer the same call and run for political office. Will Mr. Sinise put his status as a TV star on the line and run for the U.S. Senate in 2010 or 2012? I’ve heard whispers to that effect that I think at this point are merely wishes.
However, I’d like to be among the first to publicly make that call: Mr. Sinise your country needs you.
Will he answer the call? We as Americans can only hope.
